English description: Two prominent investigation disasters of german police are in the news. In 2007 in german town Heilbronn 23-years-old female police officer Michele Kiesewetter was killed by a murderer that is still unknown. In 2008 in german town Fuerstenzell police inspector Alois Mannichl, aged 52, is attacked by an unknown person. Mannichl claims having been stabbed by this unknown man with his, Mannichls, own gingerbread knife and charges him of being a right-wing extremist. In Kiesewetter case police for years followed a DNA trace of an unknown woman. These days it turned out that the cotton bud used to pick up DNA evidence material at the crime scene itself was contamitated with DNA of a working woman who was employed at the company which had produced the used cotton bud lot. Only her DNA was detected later when analyzing material in police laboratories. Matching (working woman's) DNA patterns were found henceforth at forty crime scenes throughout the republic.
