- English description:
Prosecutor Margrit Lichtinghagen from Bochum was responsible for
examination of tax evasion committed by wealthy persons who transferred
their money to secret accounts in Liechtenstein. Earlier this year
German authorities obtained a CD-ROM from a Liechtenstein insider with
detailed data of investors against a payment of some million EUR from
the tax collection office. Soon after prosecutors swarmed and catched
numerous uncovered Liechtenstein investors, the most prominent of them
was then-CEO of Deutsche Post World Net, Klaus Zumwinkel.Today media
announce that Lichtinghagen was also responsible of distributing fines
paid by sentenced tax evasors among charitable institutions. One of
those fine-receivers was private university in Witten-Herdecke, on
proposal of Lichtinghagen. Following unapproved information
Lichtinghagens daughter was enrolled there as a student. Balloon
Lichtinghagen: Probably I will get less monetary fine out of the
Zumwinkel case than expected, maybe nothing. Balloon daughter:
Ohmygosh, mom. Does that mean that my university Witten-Herdecke is due
for bankruptcy? Caption: financing talk at prosecutory kitchen table.
